A small-field, high-intensity yellowfin tuna tournament based out of Los Barriles, Baja Sur. Ten boats, three anglers each, and one goal: put the heaviest tuna of the day on the scale.
Founded in 2003, the Huie Invitational is a family-built yellowfin tuna tournament that keeps things simple: tight rules, honest scales, and serious anglers. After fourteen legendary events, the 15th Annual returns to the waters off Los Barriles in 2026.
The Huie Invitational brings together captains and crews who love classic Baja fishing: grey-light launches, sharp hooks, and long battles with powerful tuna. Teams fish from charter boats or private vessels, all competing for the heaviest yellowfin of the tournament.
Payouts focus on performance, not pageantry: big fish, big smiles, and bragging rights that last until the next year’s shotgun start.
